New video: Mickey Factz feat. The Cool Kids - "Rockin N Rollin"
This is an odd one: I was told about this video a while back but it was apparently shelved (or delayed?) due to clearance issues so I was surprised to see it pop up when I did search on Mickey and Cool Kids on YouTube today. I hit my dude Mickey to ask if everything was straight with it now and apparently it's not and he's kind of tight that its leaked. So watch it while you can and before it gets taken down!

Hip Hop Speaks Out on the Sean Bell Case....
Another new MC featured previously on the site, Soulbrotha on this travesty: "Unforgotten" (This Can't be Life pt. II) " [zshare stream/download mp3 link]
Mickey Factz - "I'm Sean (50 Shots)" [zshare stream/download mp3 link] - this has been posted on the site before but had to go in again obviously. Mickey on the track:
"As some of you may or may not know, Sean Bell of Queens, Ny was murdered senselessly by 3 undercover police officers. Today the case that was supposed to send these cops to jail were acquitted on ALL charges. So basically, the justice system is not labeling discharging 50 shots as a crime, but as a procedure. Which means that every minority walking the streets of America is liable to get pummeled by a barrage of bullets. Me being an artist, I wrote this song in January 2007 and it is clearly as relevant as it was then as it is now. I ask people to listen to the song and pass it along as a testament to the death of Sean Bell. May he rest in peace and condolences go out to his family and friends."

2008 General Election Republican F-ckery Previewed
Yo, that spot is so much f-ckery, I can't even get into it. More from Time magazine:
"An old right-wing attack dog has returned with a new target: Barack Obama.
Starting Tuesday, a group of conservative activists led by Floyd Brown, author of the famous Willie Horton ad used so effectively against Michael Dukakis in 1988, will begin a campaign to tar Obama as weak on crime and terrorism, a strategy that aims to upend Obama's relatively strong reputation among Republican voters."

Black leader blasts remarks by Bill Clinton
From 'The Notebook,' The Houston Chronicle's blog:
"One of America's most influential African-American political leaders sharply criticized former President Bill Clinton on Thursday for what he called his "bizarre" conduct during the Democratic presidential primary campaign.
The black leader, Rep. James E. Clyburn, an undeclared superdelegate from South Carolina and the third-ranking Democrat in the House, said "black people are incensed over all of this," referring to a series of statements that Bill Clinton has made in the course of the heated race between Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama."

New Republican Negative Attack Ad Against Barack Obama
McCain has allegedly asked for the ad, which is scheduled to start running next Monday, to be pulled but I doubt he's being too forceful with that request!

To be honest this video, produced by The Jed Report is a bit of a hatchet job on Hillary and is probably not "The Video That Could End The Clinton Campaign" as my man MMG claims. So who is the real patriot?
"The young man who interrupted his studies to serve his country for six years or our three political leaders who beat the system? Are the patriots the people who actually sacrifice something or those who merely talk about their love of the country?
While this young man was serving six years on active duty, Vice President Dick Cheney, who was born the same year as the Marine/sailor, received five deferments, four for being an undergraduate and graduate student and one for being a prospective father. Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, both five years younger than the African-American youth, used their student deferments to stay in college until 1968. Both then avoided going on active duty through family connections."

"When James Brown died on Christmas Day 2006, he left behind a fortune worth tens, maybe hundreds, of millions of dollars. The problem is, he also left behind: Fourteen children (pending DNS tests); Sixteen grandchildren (and counting); Eight mothers of his children (that’s a low estimate); Several mistresses (the man was a rock star); Thirty lawyers; A former manager; An aging dancer; A longtime valet; And a sister who’s not really a sister but calls herself the Godsister of Soul anyway. All of whom want a piece of his legacy. And when the dust clears, there might be nothing left of the (supremely talented, extremely careless, and massively troubled) Godfather of Soul."Click here to read an extended excerpt from the article by Sean Flynn, the full version of which can be found in the April 2008 issue of GQ magazine.

Silicone Alley Insider tries to examine the $150 million Jay-Z/Live Nation deal just announced in The New York Times today. Call me a hater but aren't Hov’s best days as a viable commercial entity WAY behind him? Especially at that insane price tag! $150 million??! Talk about buying high! I hope someone at Live Nation really knows what they're doing....

The Iraq War: an update....
So the ceasefire and drop in violence is due, not to Iraqi security forces or the intervention of the US, but to a nut-job extremist with a huge militia he can direct at will and an Iranian who is linked to terrorism.
