The New Yorker Barack Obama cover: WTF?!

F-ckery! This ridiculous cover is completely overshadowing an actually not so bad article.

Najee Ali: an open letter to Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr.
A friend of mine has a theory that the Dems told Jesse Jackson to make those comments to plausibly separate him from Obama in the media. Sounds a little kooky to me but what y'all think?
Was out in LA again this past weekend and still no internet or cable at the crib (F-CK, Cablevision f'real!) so I'm WAY out of it news and music-wise (although I have to say my new favorite joint is that Jazmine Sullivan "Need U Bad" single right now - I know it's been out for a hot minute).

The GOP ratchets up against Obama
From the Boston Globe 'Political Intelligence' blog:
"It's clear whom Republicans believe they'll be facing this fall for president. The Republican National Committee today launched a new website inviting voters to raise questions about Barack Obama's positions and qualifications.Click here for the the full post.
The site, similar to one that the Democratic National Committee has had for weeks about presumptive GOP nominee John McCain, features a video with foreboding music that tries to raise troubling questions."

2008 General Election Republican F-ckery Previewed
Yo, that spot is so much f-ckery, I can't even get into it. More from Time magazine:
"An old right-wing attack dog has returned with a new target: Barack Obama.
Starting Tuesday, a group of conservative activists led by Floyd Brown, author of the famous Willie Horton ad used so effectively against Michael Dukakis in 1988, will begin a campaign to tar Obama as weak on crime and terrorism, a strategy that aims to upend Obama's relatively strong reputation among Republican voters."
Click here for the full article:
And from Salon.com:
"Will McCain denounce Floyd Brown? It's time for the GOP to finally repudiate the creator of the infamous Willie Horton ad, who is back smearing Obama."

New Republican Negative Attack Ad Against Barack Obama
McCain has allegedly asked for the ad, which is scheduled to start running next Monday, to be pulled but I doubt he's being too forceful with that request!
Update:
From The New York Times: "G.O.P. Now Sees Obama as Liability for Ticket" - it's just pathetic and embarrassing how low the level of discourse is in US politics.

Some Republicans Emerge To Endorse Barack Obama

From The New York Sun:
" With an eye to the general election and the Pennsylvania primary, some Republicans who oppose President Bush's war policy are endorsing Senator Obama.
Call them the Obamacans: They are against continuing the Iraq war and reject what they see as Mr. Bush's unconstitutional buildup of executive power."
