Nina Sky - Only You (Take Me Away) feat. Kidz In The Hall

The plug:
"The first of two collaborations off their upcoming EP release The Other Side, Nina Sky and Double O offer up the club-ballad, "Only You (Take Me Away)" featuring a verse by his Kidz In the Hall counter-part, Naledge. "This is a song composed for the dance floor and lovers alike," Natalie says. "It's an R & B vibe over a more dance production" Nicole adds. The Other Side EP will drop August 3rd via www.NinaSkyHigh.com."
Club-ballad??! That's a new one on me....

RH TV: Closed Session with Skyzoo and Rhymefest
"The Closed Sessions EP Vol. 1 contains 14 tracks, and 9 original songs, all created at SoundScape Recordings in Chicago, IL. The songs were created under a simple idea, take talented artists, put them in a studio with other talented artists and producers, give them access to high quality production, and just get out of their way as they do what they do: create great music
That's exactly what DJ RTC and RubyHornet.com have done on The Closed Sessions EP Vo1. 1 featuring music and videos from some of Hip Hop's most talented artists such as Curren$y, Bun B, Tanya Morgan, Kidz In The Hall, GLC, Chip Tha Ripper, Amanda Diva, Emilio Rojas, Big Pooh, and more.
The free EP includes 9 original songs as well as 5 interludes, liner notes containing the story behind each track as well as individual artwork for each song, and links to each Closed Sessions video giving fans a look at the recording process."
This is a really interesting video and project overall but my question is: how did these cats at Ruby Hornet have the money to put this project together? I don't say this sarcastically - I really wanna know!
Download The Closed Sessions EP Vo1. 1 on the project bandcamp page HERE or via the download link on the media player above where you can preview stream the entire album, aight!

Video: David Banner on the postponement of today's "Something is Wrong" Rally & Video shoot
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
David Banners Heal the Hood Foundation & 247HH.com postpones “Something’s Wrong” Community Rally to Mid November in hopes of greater support to combat Violence in Chicago
October 19th, 2009 (Chicago, IL) Due to the overwhelming response, safety issues and the unexpected anticipated number of attendance, “Something’s Wrong,” community rally has been postponed to mid-November.
The event was expected to attract 500-700 attendees but superseded the expectation in such a short time frame. Other issues that involved certain people within community organizations and activists sparked major open dialogue among the participating Chicago celebrities and artists including Twista, Malik Yusef, Naledge, Tiffany of Bad Girls Club, J-Niice (B-96), to go back to the drawing board and gather a greater support through out the City of Chicago, major corporations and as well as major community influences.
Founder of Heal The Hood Foundation David Banner, responded saying, “this is a movement not to condemn kids or any organizations but the safety of the kids is my biggest concern, we want to stay on task and continue what we’ve started, we want everyone to have the opportunity to contribute.”
The major influence of this event has ignited a call to action, in gathering suggestions in how to move forward. An email and website will be setup for input, ideas and linkages for organizations, activists, the city of Chicago, students and parents to get involved and create a greater perspective and unity within Chicago.
All suggestions, comments and concerns can be addressed and emailed to: supportsomethingiswrong@gmail.com

New music: David Banner - "Something Is Wrong (Remix)" feat. Rhymefest, Naledge & Twista

A reaction record to the tragic Derrion Albert murder. Read more background on it and what's been planned next happening later today:
"October 17th, 2009 (Chicago, IL) Due to the recent brutal murder of Derrion Albert, which attracted worldwide press, and the more than 150 homicides in Chicago since the beginning of the year (Chicago Breaking News) major recording artists David Banner, Rhymefest, Naledge (from Kidz In The Hall), Skooda Chose, and producer 9th Wonder have united to raise awareness of the epidemic of violence among urban youth within Chicago by organizing an Anti-Violence rally. Additionally, the rally will serve as a creative canvas backdrop for the video shoot and release of the song “Something’s Wrong.”
On Tuesday, October 20th, 2009, at George’s Music Room, located at 3915 West Roosevelt Rd - shoot time starts at 6:00 am. In attendance will be family members and friends of the victims of violence, Chicago Public School students, community organizations, churches, politicians and local residents. Participants are uniting to call for an end to senseless violence utilizing the Hip-Hop art form as a catalyst for change and a platform for youth to engage in community awareness and activism."

I've been saying it for years and I'ma stay screaming it: Rhymefest is criminally underrated. Why is he so slept on by hip hop fans? (Now his twitter updates on the other hand....)
