More Riots Possible in Montreal Due to Rampant Racial Profiling Says Expert
The above video is a CBC news report from two years ago about the riot that occurred in Montreal after the fatal shooting of an unarmed, 18-year-old Freddy Alberto Villanueva by police. Two years almost to the date later comes this report:
"Some of the most extensive evidence yet suggesting racial profiling by its officers has been produced from within the Montreal Police Service, but the force is disavowing the internal study.
The report suggests that the number of young black men stopped and questioned by police in Montreal’s sensitive neighbourhoods is “much too high” and even amounts to “fishing expeditions.”
This “alarming” increase “touched primarily blacks” such that by 2006 and 2007 between 30 and 40 per cent of young black men in these areas faced police identity checks, compared to 5 to 6 per cent of whites.
Meanwhile, only about 5 per cent of the checks yielded arrests or infractions. “A large proportion of these checks,” study author Michel Charest concludes, “can be judged as arbitrary or malicious.”
Charest doesn’t mince words when it comes to the implications of the findings: another riot is possible if the population feels targeted — “profiled” — by police, and can be sparked by an identity check “that turns bad.”
“The probability of a second riot is not nil,” he warns, questioning whether the proportion of crimes committed by blacks warrants the mass control."

Oakland Transit Officer Johannes Mehserle Found Guilty of Involuntary Manslaughter in the Oscar Grant Murder Trial
This BART officer might only serve two years for shooting an unarmed and completely restrained Oscar Grant in the back! I guess the LA Times knew but what kind of justice is that, I ask??!!
I'm getting tired of wondering how many times I'm gonna have to read this book? And people wanna know why there's riots?? *Smdh....*

Obviously the lead-up to what transpires in this video could speak volumes as to why things devolved to what we see here but I'ma keep it funky: normally I'm on some F-ck the Cops sh-t all day when it comes to these kind of incidents but in this case and based on what I'm seeing, these chicks were dead-ass wrong. How you gonna be continually verbally abusing the cops and putting your hands on them and NOT expect to be manhandled and arrested??! *Smdh....*

Did the Toronto Police Force Beat 18-year old Junior Manon to Death?
The police allege he died of an "apparent heart attack." [Toronto Sun]
His family's lawyer, Selwyn Pieters says after seeing the amount of blood on Junior’s body at the morgue, his black eyes and a neck brace, “The issue of a heart attack is a fiction. It seems that he died from physical force.” [Metro]
Which one sounds more likely to be true to you?! :/
I told y'all Toronto and Canada weren't any kind of racial utopia relative to the US. Unfortunately, Junior Manon's family now have the tragic misfortune of illustrating that point for me. Some of you may ask why he ran. We'll never know the answer but to that now but the issue of why it took enough force to kill to subdue a fleeing subject is something we all should support finding the answer to.

Video: Philly Officers in Taped Beating Cleared by Grand Jury
WTF??!?!! Did the (apparently mostly-Black) Grand Jury watch the same video clip I did?? And enough with bullsh-t "Police-are-under-stress, they-got-seconds-to-react" arguments poeple, like John McNesby in the clip, routinely trot out in these situations. I counted at least about 15 cops in the video savagely kicking and beating the three suspects. I mean c'mon...

AP Raw Video: Deputy Shown Kicking, Slamming and Punching a Teen Girl
Here we go again....
"Surveillance video released in an assault case against a King County, Wash. sheriff's deputy shows him kicking a young girl, slamming her to the jail cell floor and striking her repeatedly. The deputy has pleaded not guilty in case."

Is this a video of a cop punching a female teen in the face multiple times simply for riding her bike on the sidewalk?

Defence: Cop Accused of Murder Used Wrong Weapon (AP Video)
I can't even believe Johannes Mehserle's lawyers are gonna argue that line of defence. Oscar Grant was fully restrained and of no danger to these cops. Why did Mehserle feel like he had to pull out (what he allegedly thought was) his taser weapon to begin with?? This was no heat-of-the-moment, split second, impending danger situation. At best, he was grossly incompetent in the death of Grant which should still lead to some kind of manslaughter or lesser degree homicide charge, no?
