Music video: Donny Goines - No Apologies
Donny Goines seems like a good dude but I've never been impressed with much of what I've heard from him and only ever covered him a handful of times since the first post I did on him. He kinda struck me as yet another 'Blog rapper' who's managed to build a sizeable presence for himself online but hasn't really made a real impact on hip hop. If this track and video are any indication though, that's on its way to changing. I'll admit: I was feeling this!

"As some of you may or may not know, Sean Bell of Queens, Ny was murdered senselessly by 3 undercover police officers. Today the case that was supposed to send these cops to jail were acquitted on ALL charges. So basically, the justice system is not labeling discharging 50 shots as a crime, but as a procedure. Which means that every minority walking the streets of America is liable to get pummeled by a barrage of bullets. Me being an artist, I wrote this song in January 2007 and it is clearly as relevant as it was then as it is now. I ask people to listen to the song and pass it along as a testament to the death of Sean Bell. May he rest in peace and condolences go out to his family and friends."

New artist: Donny Goines
I'd seen his name (which is kind of suspect or really clever depending on your perspective) on Nah Right recently, but then I actually got an email from homeboy this past week with a link to check out his new indie album release The Excerpt pg. 1 featuring production by the late Disco D. I didn't love the whole thing but check out this track from it and tell me what you think:
