Afghanistan: from bad to worse?
From an AP article by Jason Straziuso in the Miami Herald:
"Taliban insurgents once derided as a ragtag rabble unable to match U.S. troops have transformed into a fighting force -- one advanced enough to mount massive conventional attacks and claim American lives at a record pace."

New Clinton supporter-targeted Ads from John McCain
Also: "Passed Over" [YouTube video]
From the NY Post:
"John McCain has unleashed three attack ads in just as many days aiming at dividing the Democratic party after Barack Obama picked Joe Biden as his runningmate over Hillary Rodham Clinton."
Wait a second, Clinton and Obama have essentially similar policy platforms but 27% of her supporters now say they are going to cross party lines and vote for McCain who's views are largely antithetical to true liberal Democrats?? So Clinton supporters, are you sexist or racist? Please tell me which one is it 'cos there's really no other explanation for such flagrant f-ckery?

The Game - L.A.X. album trailer
Featuring the track "House of Pain." This has already done the blog rounds this week but since L.A.X. is dropping next Tuesday, I'm posting it anyway.
I know the standard blog nerd line is to dis Game as chronic name-dropper with an average flow but f-ck that. MC-wise he is WAY underrated IMHO and son did it again: I've been bumpin' a leaked version of L.A.X. for the past week or so and it's a GREAT album, top to bottom just like his first two. Let me put it you like this, Game is smashing two of his recent release rivals: I couldn't even get through that boring-ass GZA album and based on what I heard of the Re-Up Gang album, Clipse need to stop it with the fake G-Unit/Young Jeezy beats, call The Neptunes up and say they're sorry for breaking camp. On top of that, my dude Raheem is on L.A.X. (on the track, "Touchdown") so I gotta rep it out regardless, right?

Isaac Hayes: 1942-2008
One of my all-time favorite albums is Isaac Hayes: Live at the Sahara Tahoe which my Dad played in the house many a Sunday when I was a kid growing up. This was the record which introduced to me to Hayes' music long before there was such a thing as hip hop to revitalize his work by introducing it to a new generation. One of the coolest memories I have was meeting the man himself and asking him to sign a CD copy of that album to give my Dad as a Christmas gift a few years back. I'm also happy I got off my ass and went to see him perform live at BB King's for the first time a few months back. Black Moses, R.I.P. - you will be missed....
