President Obama's Weekly Address (2/28/09)
Rumble!
Obama defends the budget he sent to Congress this week and the sweeping change he wants to bring to Washington. If he can pull off what he's talking about in the address above (i.e. muzzling the lobbyists and special interest), it'll be an amazing accomplishment. The sharks are already out though! [JSOnline]

Rush Limbaugh's address to the Conservative Political Action Conference
Limbaugh: "He wants people in fear, angst and crisis, fearing the worst each and every day because that clears the decks for President Obama and his pals to come in with the answers which are abject failures, historically shown and demonstrated. Doesn't matter. They'll have control of it when it's all over. And that's what they want."

Trailer for New BET Reality Series: "Harlem Heights"
I actually got put up on this show when I got this with my coffee a couple weeks ago at my local coffee shop, but a spot on the radio just jogged my memory about it. To my uptown heads though: is there actually a neighborhood called Harlem Heights??

This is f-cking EPIC! For young uns' benefit, here's the background story: when the Wild Bunch broke up they became Soul II Soul (with Nellee Hooper joining Jazzie B's London crew and helping them produce "Back to Life" and "Keep On Movin'") and Massive Attack (formed by WB members Daddy G, 3D and maybe Milo too, though not sure about that last one).

Follow the Kid on Twitter!
I'm at twitter.com/StellasKid.
I know I've kind of rubbished Twitter in the past but I've been seeing how useful it can be since I set up an account. I'm actually using it as a quasi-RSS feed for sites and people I check for. It's also a nice repository for links I find that I don't have time to post here.
In fact I'm posting hella stuff over there that either will never get posted or will be posted late on The Kitchen due to time or energy constraints or also because I don't wanna clutter up this site with some of the minutiae I come across that might still be worth checking out. New music: Black Eyed Peas - "Boom Boom Pow"
I'm not a hater on B.E.P. like others - I happen to think Will.i.am is an amazing producer and if I'm gonna listen to pop music, I'd rather it be these dudes than say, Ashlee Simpson or Jonas Bros. (although there's been some really good pop music over the past year: Kevin Rudolf, Katy Perry, MGMT etc.). That being said, now they got on the autotune bandwagon too and this new track, apparently the first single from their forthcomoing The E.N.D., album, is some Common UMC type sh-t (wait, didn't will.i.am produce that too?). I guess they didn't get the memo that that sh-t FLOPPED!
