Throwback Mixtape: Behold the Destroyer – Lamborghini Loafers
Love this! How can you not f-ck with a mixtape that has the following description:
"The year is 1985, Chico Avaraldo — the biggest gun runner in Miami — has double crossed you for the last time. He’s sent his goons to rub you out and kidnap your girlfriend to sell into white slavery. They shot you in the back and torched your modest, albeit palatial estate. Left you for dead. They shoulda finished the job.
First mistake.
You jump in your Lamborghini and speed down the high way, doing 120 miles an hour. As your italian loafers press down on the accelerator you grip the wheel tightly, consumed with a desire for revenge — the sweetest of digestifs. As you hug the turns of the moonlit city streets you approach Avaraldo’s club. The lamborghini spins to a stop in front of the entrance. You open up the gullwing doors and jump out with BOTH of your Uzis blazing (you have two Uzis on you at all time). Avaraldo’s ninja bodyguards weren’t prepared for such a brash move.

You enter the club and find Avaraldo holding your girl at gunpoint. It ends now.

I've featured this Toronto singer previously on The Kitchen HERE. Her soulful, stripped-down bluesy style on the songs that make up her EP, The Phone Demos are a breath of fresh-air in a world of over-produced, digitally sterile-sounding music.

When I came across that StreetBeat, Break’N Out album in the post below, I got confused because that album, which I'd never heard of (or just don't remember), seemed to pre-date this project but, according to my man, John Adams who executive produced the Cold Front comp, that album was really just an 'artist album' featuring the roster of pioneering Canadian hip hop label, Beat Factory Records. That seems to fit the definition of a compilation to me but maybe I'm missing something?

Two tracks from a 1987 Canadian hip hop compilation called StreetBeat, Break’N Out by pioneering T.dot hip hop groups, Michie Mee & L.A. Luv and Rumble & Strong. The Rumble & Strong track is allegedly the last record Scott LA Rock (of the legendary Boogie Down Productions) produced before his untimely passing. Shirley Sherrod and the Race Issue Run Amok in the US (Again!)
Apparently the Right Wing Blogosphere went crazy yesterday when an edited version of the above video of USDA Georgia official, Shirley Sherrod addressing a local chapter of the NCAA purportedly showing her to be a 'racist' went viral.
Watch the video though, in particular around the 16:30 mark which is where you can watch the full unedited part of her words that were taken out of context by Andrew Breibart's Big Government blog. Of course, the reality of Sherrod's word was far less sinister (read: the total opposite of what was being alleged). Sadly though, even the NCAA, who hosted the event where this 'scandal' all kicked off in the first place, and allegedly the White House got caught up in the BS.
The Tea Party and wingnuts must have been doing a jig when this bogus-ass story broke and the spotlight was temporarily off their f-ckery though. Amazingly, they are now even attacking the NCAA for having joined in their witch-hunt condemning Sherrod's supposed bigotry. *Smdh...*
