New Music: Cutty Ranks vs. Cam'ron & Vado - Limb By Tung (Cosmo Baker & Skratch Bastid's Harlem meets Jamaica mix)

Cutty Ranks,Cam'ron,Vado,Cosmo Baker,Skratch Bastid,Mash-up,Remix

The plug:

"For the July 9th’s Skratch Bastid Presents: LET’S BUILD party at The Drake in Toronto, I flew in early to send a couple days practicing routines with Bastid for the show. During onr of our sessions him and I were playing the new Cam’ron & Vado heatrock “Speakin’ In Tongues” and I started chopping up different parts of the beat, flipping it inna dancehall stylee. We threw Cutty Ranks’ immortal “Limb By Limb” acapella over top of it and it and, as Bastid puts it, "instantly smoke filled the room and an airhorn sounded from the distance. Magical." We performed it live at the show to a great response. Here is a studio remix of the cut, so that you can mash up the party wherever you play it, be it desktop, poolside or club. Check it, download it, play it... have fun!"

Sheen Bros - Scumbag Funk Vol. 2 Download & Release Party

Sheen Bros.,Cosmo Baker,4th Pyramid,mixtape

WTF? Let Cosmo Baker explain:

"So basically it started out as a joke between me and my homeboy 4th Pyramid. Hanging out in downtown Manhattan one evening, we decided to come up with a funk / rap group, and Sheen Brothers was born. Like I said, it was all kind of in fun, but then after a couple shows and some recording things actually got serious. So with dedication and focus, Sheen Bros is a full on go.

Now this here it is, the one and only Sheen Bros Scumbag Funk Volume 2 mixed by yours truly. It's 40+ minutes of nothing but that afrosheen. This is just the precursor, as we have an EP of original material setting to drop in spring of 2010 as well as a full length LP later on in the year, featuring an insane lineup of some legendary guests.

Check the download link for Volume 2 below, and you can click HERE for a link to Volume 1, mixed by 4th Pyramid. Special shouts to the following people for helping make Volume 2: 4th Pyramid, Tamir, Z. Brown, Mark Lowyns, Raj Mahal, Bird Peterson, Justin Torres, Dante Ross, DJ Nu-Mark, 7l & DJ Beyonder, Stretch Armstrong & Eli Escobar."

Download Sheen Bros - Scumbag Funk Vol. 2 HERE. [sharebee]

And if you're in NY, check out the release party TONIGHT.

New music: Sheen Brothers (Cosmo Baker & 4th Pyramid) - Scumbag Funk Vol. 1

Cosmo Baker & 4th Pyramid,Sheen Brothers

Anyhting by Cosmo Baker is worth checking out. About the Sheen Brothers:

"DJ extraordinaire Cosmo Baker (The Rub, NYC) and MC/Producer phenom 4th Pyramid (Toronto) jokingly came up with the concept of THE SHEEN BROTHERS one balmy Manhattan evening: A duo of slicked-out sleazestars tuned into the greasy funk and drippy disco sounds that make girls lose control and guys feel like macks hit the stage in style to turn the party out. Unbeknownst to them, the two hit on a virtual party rocking monster machine that’s no joke. With Cosmo on the ones and twos and Pyramid on the MPD, these two have smoothed out their own brand of sexy dance floor flavor, what they like to call Scumbag Funk, and the people want more. What can they say…it’s a Sheen thing.

Now, you can get your greasy fingers on a piece of SHEEN with this, their much anticipated mix, Scumbag Funk Vol. 1. Out the gates first with an electrifying mix of the dankest drippy-disco around is SHEEN Brother, 4th Pyramid. Get ready for the funk at its finest, being a sleaze ball never felt this good."

Includes tracks by Labi Siffre, Kleer, Serge Gainsbourg, Boney M and Michael McDonald. Click here for the back cover with the full track listing.
