Before I put in a (too-brief) stint in the Stuy and a gentrified eight year run out in Carroll Gardens, I was in Fort Greene during that amazing time period this film talks about. Shout to Gabe, Jerome, Devin, Laron, Dino, Eisa, Junior, Dave Jenkins (R.I.P.), Sarah, Hilly, Colson, Ndidi, Les, Osman, Kevin, Shandi, Fiona, Ramos, Common and anyone else I've forgotten that I ever partied, lived or loved with in the original (real) Fort Greene-Clinton Hill. Y'all who know, know what I'm talking about....

New music: Blitz The Ambassador - "Hands Of Time"
I usually hate "remember how much better hip hop was back in the day" type songs but I'm gonna give Blitz a pass for his "Hands Of Time." Damn, I wonder if he cleared all those samples though?! Shout to my dude and Blitz manager, Kwasi too.
Blitz played the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival earlier this summer and is currently on the Warped tour but for NYC heads, he will be back to play the Lyricist Lounge presents Celebrate Brooklyn show in Prospect Park with KRS-One and Ladybug Mecca on August 3 and the Black August show at Nokia Theater on August 26.
