The Black August Hip Hop Project strives to promote human rights though supporting and influencing the global development of Hip Hop culture. By facilitating exchanges between international communities where Hip Hop is a vital part of youth culture, they promote awareness about the social and political issues that affect our global communities. Their vision is to bring culture and politics together and to allow them to naturally evolve into a unique Hip Hop consciousness that informs our collective struggle for a more just, equitable and human world. This film documents the movement through a series of interviews and performances with hip hop artists and key members of the black activist movement."

New music: Blitz The Ambassador - "Hands Of Time"
I usually hate "remember how much better hip hop was back in the day" type songs but I'm gonna give Blitz a pass for his "Hands Of Time." Damn, I wonder if he cleared all those samples though?! Shout to my dude and Blitz manager, Kwasi too.
Blitz played the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival earlier this summer and is currently on the Warped tour but for NYC heads, he will be back to play the Lyricist Lounge presents Celebrate Brooklyn show in Prospect Park with KRS-One and Ladybug Mecca on August 3 and the Black August show at Nokia Theater on August 26.
