Shad is super-dope, as is Oddisee. Not sure I dig this more than the original or that it was needed to get this record poppin' down South, was it? The T.S.O.L. album featuring "Yaa I Get It" is out now in Canada but drops in the US in October....

The DECON interview video: Shad speaks about the stateside debut of his TSOL album
Excellent Canadian MC, Shad is finally getting ready to release his acclaimed TSOL album in the US. Here's the plug:
"Vancouver based MC Shad prepares to storm the northern border with his highly acclaimed LP TSOL on October 5, 2010. The album, released earlier this year in his native Canada, will see a US release on Black Box Recordings/Decon and has already garnered wide praise including a nomination for the prophetic Polaris Music Prize. Moving forward, he sets his sights on American audiences, eager to connect with existing fans, and tell his story to virgin ears."
He's also going on a US tour with fellow Canadian MC, K-Os. Here's the dates:

Video: Shad - "The Old Prince Still Lives at Home"
Some of you probably saw this months ago when it first came out. This is Canadian too but I can't even say "Tdot, stand up" 'cos homeboy's actually from London, Ontario, a college town a couple hours away from Toronto.
So this is wild cheesy but at the same time, kind of genius (and very funny). It's basically a scene-by-scene remake of the opening to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air TV show. Dude can really rhyme though - he reminds me of Murs or some other backpack rappers whose music I don't really listen to. Check it and tell me if you agree though. [via Del]
