Video: Michael Vick Signs Contract With Eagles
Not going all sports bloggy on y'all but had to acknowledge this. How does this work when they still have McNabb and Kevin Kolb in the QB protégé/heir apparent slot? And that's gotta sting signing for a $1.6 million first year paycheck with the Eagles after having been the recipient of a six-year, $62 million contract previously! More via SI.com and USA Today.
I actually just finished watching a great CFL game between the (Edmonton) Eskimoes and the Calagary Stampeders but I still can't quite get my head around watching regular season football in the middle of summer!

Jena 6: the latest developments
First, get up to speed if you need a late pass:
So September 20 was a 'National Day of Action' on the Jena 6 case. Besides this much-needed grassroots call to action, this case is also finally starting to garner some mainstream attention (even as, at the same time, the MSM stays fixated on other black men), but I'ma show love to some of my fellow 'hip hop bloggers' (and others) who've been on this story:
Nah Right: Bun B and Mos Def head to Jena.
EURweb: Jena 6 rally draws thousands.
The Rap Up: good collection of links by Rizoh in his 'Judgement in Jena' post.
Poplicks: Louisiana is bringing back the noose.
Crunk & Disorderly: Jena 6 - no laughing matter.
Bonus audio:
NYOIL (?) - "Free the Jena 6" (YSI mp3 link) - enjoy and spread around, the world needs to hear more hip hop like this!
Online:
