Preview video for Felt - "Get Cake"
"Felt, the duo of Slug & MURS, give you a short video talking about their upcoming album and the process that went into recording it. You also get a small preview of the track “Get Cake” which will be on the LP. Felt 3: A Tribute To Rosie Perez drops November 17th on Rhymesayers and is completely produced by Aesop Rock."
Slug and Aesop Rock? I think that qualifies for WBW!

Introducing Dirty Ghosts - "Steamboat to Concord"

I'm f-cking with this hardbody too. I don't know much about this duo (and neither apparently, did the guy from the promo company who sent it to me - er, WTF??!?!!). All I know is if you like dirty lo-fi, fuzzed-out psychedelic/bluesy guitars over hip hop-inspired breakbeat-style drums, you need to get at this IMMEDIATELY. And it's not a one-off either - other tracks on their MySpace seem to follow a similar pattern. I'd someone like say Mark Ronson should produce these guys but he might make their sound too polished and pop!
Update: apparently they're working with Aesop Rock which explains the hip hop beats now.

Aesop Rock + Nike + Original Run

In my inbox tonight:
"Joining the ranks of renowned artists The Crystal Method and LCD Soundsystem, MC/Producer Aesop Rock has joined forces with Nike to release an original composition in the third installment of the "Nike + Orignal Run" series, available exclusively in the Nike Sport Music store on the iTunes Store.
All Day: Nike + Original Run, a 45-minute continuous mix, was created specifically with runners in mind and reflects Aesop Rock's distinct and unique style. "I wanted to create something that evolved enough that the sound was constantly fresh and attractive, as if the runner were moving through a set of differing cities or landscapes."
Consumers can purchase Aesop Rock's All Day: Nike + Original Run at the iTunes Store for $9.99.
Completely unrelated (except that they're both from BK): Biggie R.I.P.
Labels: Aesop Rock, Nike + Original Run, Notorious B.I.G.
