AC - AC's Memoirs: 9/11 In Retrospect
I didn't post this on 9/11 proper when it was launched but this was one of the better and more original marketing campaigns I've seen in the hip hop blogosphere recently. Rapper, AC wrote songs tied into each of the main events that comprised the tragic time-line of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. They were originally released via his twitter account, @AConDemand, at the exact time they happened on the morning of the anniversary of 9/11 this year. Here are the tracks as they were originally released that morning:
8:46AM: FLIGHT 11 CRASHES INTO WORLD TRADE CENTER NORTH TOWER
"Wake Me Up"* (Prod. by Halo)
9:03AM: FLIGHT 175 CRASHES INTO THE WORLD TRADE CENTER SOUTH TOWER
"It's Really Happening" (Prod. by Phoenix)
9:38AM: FLIGHT 77 CRASHES INTO THE PENTAGON
"Take Me With You" (Prod. by Mike Cash)
9:59AM: THE SOUTH TOWER OF THE WORLD TRADE CENTER COLLAPSES
"50 Ways To Leave Your Lover" (Prod. by C4 Sinistah)
10:10AM: FLIGHT 93 CRASHES IN PENNSYLVANIA
"The Morning Of" (Prod. by Rain)
10:28AM: THE NORTH TOWER OF THE WORLD TRADE CENTER COLLAPSES
"Goodbye (feat. Jazzlyn Starr)" (Prod. by J. Glaze)
Which was then wrapped up as a single download link at the end of the campaign:

So rappers, please note: a tracks or freestyle a day or a week for a month, a year or whatever is not the only way to make your mark when you're trying to come up. So get creative!
