Lushlife - Redux Vol. 1 and 2
For those of you really new to the game, Lushlife was the dude who did the Kanye West/Beach Boys West Sounds mashup album back in 2005! He's back now with his Redux video series which "presents [his] cover versions of classic hip-hop songs performed live and in one take, demonstrating a seamless melding of b-boy braggadocio and classically trained flourish." Here's Hov's "Dead President" on a grand piano at a church in Philly:
This is great but how do you do this in a church when you know you gonna be cursing?? Dude is FLAGRANT!!!
Here's Vol. 1 of his Redux cover series though - Cru's "Just Another Case" on acoustic guitar, which is also cool:
Also, check out dude's new album Cassette City featuring Camp Lo, Elzhi, Ariel Pink (who), and Greg Saunier of Deerhoof which is out now on Rapster.
