Video: Earl Young on the Sound of Philadelphia (Part 1)

Rough clip from the film, Philly Pop Music, featuring Earl Young (MFSB session drummer, Trammps), Peter Humphreys (Sigma Sound engineer) & Weldon McDougal (producer, songwriter) talking about the development of the legendary Philly Sound. As my boy Duane, who I swiped this from, says, "[Earl Young] was the first to make extensive and distinctive use of the Hi-Hat cymbal throughout the playing time of an R & B record. In other words, he invented the disco 'beat'."
