Remembering Anthony 'Tony D' Depula
Sad news. He wasn't the best known producer but he was one of the best: pure boom bap hip hop in the tradition of the Golden era (late 80's to mid 90's) sound. Real heads know the deal although the full extent of his contribution to hip hop has perhaps still yet to be acknowledged. Semi heads should at least know him as the producer behind Poor Righteous Teacher's "Rock Dis Funky Joint." I used to have his Harvee Wallbangar Droppin' Funky Verses solo artist album back in the day and now regret that I sold it. Anyway Anthony Depula, real hip hop got a little less real without your presence. R.I.P., my dude.
