D-Nice's True Hip Hop Stories: Sadat X of Brand Nubian
Y'all youngsters don't even realize how BIG Brand Nubian were in hip hop and on the streets when One For All dropped. I'm not even sure the album ever even went Gold but its impact was Graduation, Tha Carter III, Get Rich or Die Tryin'-sized big regardless because the album stayed hot for damn near a year which almost never happens in hip hop any more in an era where cats have to drop a mixtape every week to keep cats giving a f-ck about them! I kind of wish this True Hip Hop Stories was about the classic "All for One" single, but "Punks Jump Up..." was the first record these guys dropped after the success of the One For All album and the departure of lead rapper and God MC, Grand Puba so this is still an interesting story in its own right.
Labels: Brand Nubian, D-Nice, Sadat X
