Lil Wayne - G.O.A.T.?
The Village Voice called it a while ago. Now others are joining in. Is Lil Wayne the best rapper alive, ever, out right now etc.? I don't know about all that but that Like Father, Like Son collab album with Baby is ridonkolous. If it's not a 5 mic classic, it's pretty close and might be the best produced southern street rap album ever. Of course, if you thought the last good album to come out was Life After Death and even that had too many radio cuts for your taste, then I know you're probably rolling your eyes at your monitor right now after reading that last line but that's real talk! Anyway, peep a recent freestyle where Wayne states his case for top 5 dead or alive status....

Baby Boy Da Prince "New Orleans Saints" - this kid is apparently a protege of Lil Wayne's (true?). I thought it was Wayne until I re-read the email from my man Jazzbo who put me up on this. Yet another contender in the teen hop stakes alongside Jibbs, The Pack, Webstar & Young B etc. etc. It's also kind of like the Southern version of Jim Jones' NY Giants mix of "Ballin."(more: My Space | alternate link: stream/download)
