Special Easter Holiday Post

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

After watching the actually quite good movie version of the quasi-Christian fable writ as children's fantasy novel The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe on a plane back from the West Coast earlier today, I figure I'd use the Easter holidays as an excuse to post some religion-related links I've been sitting on for a while. First though....

Sploid on the roots of Easter and Easter around the world (with more related linkage here and here).

And as this holiday draws to a close:

- "There is no such thing as a 'Christian politics.'"

- Jesus's walk-on-water miracle explained?

- Not that the majority of Americans would buy it based on this news.

No disrespect to the faithful as the most holy of holidays and central to Christian beliefs draws to a close but is anyone else as embarrassed as me to live in a country this backwards? They worry about the Afghan Taliban when there's virtually a Christian equivalent right here? Meanwhile the religious right's hypocrisy knows no limits.
