"Extended operations in Iraq are taking their toll on U.S. soldiers. A new study by the New England Journal of Medicine reveals "as many as one out of four veterans of Afghanistan and Iraq treated at Veterans Affairs hospitals in the past 16 months were diagnosed with mental disorders." Though VA hospitals are currently able to provide mental health care for these soldiers, the numbers are steadily on the rise and hospitals may soon be "overwhelmed" if they come in the numbers predicted."
