The Source's Dave Mays speaks | Dirty South, the movie | Win 4G's from The Roots | The Grey Album goes analog

Dave Mays tries to save The Source's rep with this interview after taking a thrashing in their beef with Eminem. Does he succeed? (mediabistro.com)

- Don't f-ck with Marshall, he's invincible right now. He even shifted over a half-million units of that new D12 record which entered the album chart at #1 this week (!). (Billboard.com)

Another good question: what the f-ck is Black Thought saying on the chorus of the new Roots single "Don't Say Nothin'"? Cornerstone Digital is coordinating a contest to find out what the fans think. Click here to listen and watch the video, then enter to win the $4k cash prize courtesy The Roots and Geffen Records. It's not $4G's but, don't forget we have our own little Roots contest jumpin' off closing tonight. Click here for details.

The Grey Album on wax! I liked the album but is this club banger material that you need on wax?!

BTW, I finally copped the Franz Ferdinand album last week for $9.99 from Best Buy. I like it aight but it's not killin' me the way Hot Hot Heat's album was (to make a comparison to a similar band). I'ma keep playing it though to see how it grows on me, but so far I have to say that I'm mildly disappointed especially after diggin' the first two singles and seeing everyone else raving so much about it.

Finally, it's always good to get comments and feeback to posts from readers and also emails like this one received yesterday from Donnell Stokes who, while he lives in Charlotte NC now, is originally from BK and says he's so Brookyn "if you cut my veins, you'd see a, c, g, and the franklin avenue shuttle running thru my arteries...":
i have been down here in charlotte, nc for about a coupla joints.
reading your blog is like being back in my man's mother's kitchen,
reheating escovitched fish and rice, panamanian style. it is truly
refreshing to see a kindred spirit able to conduct intelligent discourse
about music( all kinds) and politics(aka tricknology).

i am planning to open up a restaurant like my favorite ones from ny,
here in charlotte..... a combo of caribe's (no longer exists), brawta
(downtown bk, remember when she was just a patty shop) and the
10enth street lounge(stuck up, but still a nice down low spot).

basically this joint is to tell you that you may not realize it, or maybe
you do, that this site is like home to those of us who aint there.....
As a transplanted BK head who's been here for 12 years now (almost longer than any other place else I've lived including Toronto and England), I appreciate hearing from a true Brooklyn head like Donnell who says I'm keeping it all the way thorough. Thanks, Donnell and the rest of my readers, regular or otherwise.

Finally, spotted this online ad yesterday on the Mo Ca$h blog:

D'oh! I thought Google couldn't top their "jew" search listing controversy from a while back, but then came this. I'm gonna chalk this up to being an unfortunate result spat out by whatever generic search result algorithm Google uses. Milo at Mo Ca$h thinks it's a fake. I couldn't pull anything up about it when I, er, did a google search (although I didn't really try that hard). Anyone else know whether this is a parody or the real deal?
