Who's running this hip hop blog ish? | Hip hop's women strike back | WTF is up with ODB?
Finally got a copy of the new Zero 7 When It Falls album and, disappointingly, I don't really love it. It's like the first one only not as good: the production is as lush and mellow as ever although, overall, it's kind of boring and the songs aren't as strong as on Simple Things. I'ma play it a few more times and see if it grows on me though. Message to Shuggie Gray: your copy's coming today and thanks to Greg B. for the hook-up.
I might not have felt the buzz but people were watching: 'Sopranos' Premiere Sets a Record (Sort Of). (New York Times)

Women in hip hop finally strike back: Sick of being called ho's and bitches, a group of young women in Boston has set up a new radio station to fight rap's misogyny. (Guardian UK)

And on a related note, I might be late on this but, here's some hip hop humor: Roc-A-Scenes. (Wu-Tang Corp.)
Joe Budden's new club heater "Body Hot," flipping "Rapper's Delight" (or Chic's "Good Times" for sticklers) and Earth Wind & Fire (I think. Beatheads, what's the sample on this?) is circulating on promo wax now. I'm feeling it, but I don't know if it's that ish that's gonna push him over the top.

And finally, how to run this hip hop blog world ish: this post ("More of the Just Blaze Interview") from J-Smooth's hiphopmusic.com blog has got to have set some kind of record for the most comments on a non-Howard Dean blog. It was up to 858 last time I looked -- holy smokes. Who knew having producer Just Blaze participate in a thread could generate so much action?
